Hi,

Last month my fianc! and I bought on credit card a trip to cologne though lastminite.com

The departing flight was with Ryanair and the return with eurowings and hotel with Hilton.

I will save you the detail. But long story short, after sitting on a plane on the tarmac for 5 hours, the flight was cancelled.

The next flight out with seats is after we return.

So at 2am with no train running. It was an Uber back home and holiday canceled.

What I would like you wonderful people to help me with please.

Is how much of this can we get back. The flight? The hotel? The return flight with a different provider? The Uber?

And who is liable? Is it lastminute.com, the credit card company or Ryanair? Or a mix?

Please help, it’s sad enough I missed the holiday, but would like our money back.

Thanks for any help.

Dave

This would be far better posted on the overseas travel board. They have comprehensive details on claiming compensation on there.

Travel insurance? Was the hotel refundable? What have Ryanair and Lastminute said on the matter?

Post on the flight delay board for help with the flight cancellation, the reason for the delay is crucial to determine whether you can claim or not.

Minimum is EUR250 each from Ryanair for the flight delay, plus a refund for the flights.

If the cost of the Ryanair flights was more than £100 each (unlikely) then S75 covers consequential loss.

If you bought the holiday as a package, then either a full refund from last minute.com or a S75 claim (plus 250 euro from Ryanair)

If the circumstances were beyond Ryanair's control then no compensation from them.

Why was the flight cancelled? Have you discussed it with your travel insurance provider?
