Microsoft Office question/help please.

Options
Can one of you nice people help with my query?

We need a newer/new Microsoft Office to run pre made Excel and Word documents on our new Windows 10 machine.

Now I know there are other products available like Open Office, Libre Office etc that could be used.

But when we read the data using them, tables are shirted, colour coded text and spaces between words are altered.
- Not what I want!!

I don’t want to pay mega money for something that will get used once a month...

So other than buying a brand new Office programme at £100+ has anyone tried and been happy with buying a cheaper version of Office not DIRECT from Microsoft?

Amazon has people selling cheaper ones where you get sent the key code.
Are they any good and do they last more than a year?

And there are these people, Software Haven who also sell Microsoft items. Anyone used them?

Thank you.

Software Haven are selling office 365 the same as the amazon sellers but just more expensive.

Site was only registered last year and owner details are being hidden. Make your own mind up. No address on website either.

People have had success with both the Amazon & Ebay cheapies
  • The online-only versions of Word and Excel are free, but you'll you'll need a Microsoft Live or Outlook.com type account

I used to use Office 2007, which Microsoft was no longer supporting.

Several months ago I purchased a product key for Office 2016 from a seller on Ebay, which cost about £6. The seller emailed the key almost immediately, giving instructions how to use.

Initially there were a couple of compatibility issues with the old Office programme, which were quite easily resolved. The new software is working well.

Make sure you back up old documents, spreadsheets, etc first.

    Good luck

Do you work for an employer with an agreement with MS to allow home use ?
    try https://www.microsofthup.com/hupuk/home.aspx?country_id=GB
at under £10 for 2016 pro plus (you actually have the FULL program locally rather than on-line)
This allows two installations as well

Or if you want a dodgy copy - for £6 try Ebay or Amazon but don't be surprised if you have problems !

A friend gave us a 2007 Office but Microsoft no longer support it and it also makes the spaces disappear and tables funny.

The lads rate their own copies of Office through school for a tenner apiece for the full thing - may I commend borrowing a suitable child?

That's the same scheme as the Home Use program (above) for which you simply need a .EDU email address to register....

I've had office from an eBay seller and it was fine.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
