Wedding dress refund?

  • I would say that your best option is to go to the shop yourself and try to calmly and politely appeal to their better nature. Explain that your daughter has medical issues and that although for many a £1k on a dress is normal, for her it is not. Acknowledge that she was wrong to purchase it given the sizing and cost. It might not get you anywhere, but it would be worth a try.

If you don't have any joy then your only options are those listed above - try to have it altered or sell it on (at a loss) and buy something else.

Will that work 6 months after the purchase?
  • Surely if the shop told her it would cost so much to alter and it turns out it costs double that then the shop lied to get a sale.

OP you could always find a fault with the dress when re-trying it in in the shop and if less than 30 days since your daughter paid for it, reject it as not fit for purpose.

Especially the bit about finding a fault.
Please note that the original post was waaaaay back in July last year.
