composite decking

Options
What are people's views on composite decking I've just brought some from Savoy Timber and although it looks very good I am finding it chips very easy and it's a big concern and am thinking I would of saved my money and gone with wood at the min it's not something I would recommend ?

I wouldn't use wood decking, ever. It's the least hard wearing floor surface. I went to look at a house recently that had hundreds of square metres of it - we were breaking it as we walked, it was so rotten. At least with other materials it's usually a matter of taste, not necessity, when they need replacing.

We use composite on roof terraces, no issues so far on ones that have been down for a couple of years. If it's possible in the space, I'd always do the landscaping with retaining walls and put down something more practical and permanent than decking.
