Ceiling cracks

Not sure where this thread should go really?
We bought a house in May, had the survey done the previous November.
The survey inspected the ceilings and said that they are of plasterboard construction with plaster skim, there are a few cracks in the ceiling but they are of none structural importance and can be sorted when decorating basically.
However I feel like more have appeared? Im not 100% sure or if I’ve only just noticed them. There were no signs of movement on the survey and I still can’t see any elsewhere, walls etc. I can’t see any bowing either. Should I be worried?

I’m no expert, structural surveyor etc but I do work for a plastering contractor. Hairline ceiling cracks are pretty normal, especially on the top floor where there tend to be less/no supporting walls meaning joists are more likely to move.
A plasterer should be able to fix them pretty easily. They tape the cracks with scrim tape and reskim that area. If a ceiling is particularly bad, they may just reskim the entire ceiling.
If they’re anymore than a hairline and in the corners of the room, zig zagy, above windows etc, then I’d seek more professional advice.
Hope that helps a little,

With the adverse weather, I imagine lots of ceilings have developed hairline cracks. I know mine have.
The local fracking tests haven't helped either, but that's another story.0 -

Can you stick a pencil through the crack. If not, its probably normal hairline cracks.0

Have you been up in the loft? Most ceilings don't react well when someone walks in the loft.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
