Car Damaged by Car Wash

Options
Hi, looking for advice please. Last week my car was dented and scratched after going through an IMO automatic car wash. At the time of the incident the car wash stopped suddenly and my car became trapped under one of the rollers. Two men who worked there lifted this off and told me that a mechanical fault with the sensor had caused my car to become trapped.

Head office have since said that they are accepting no responsibility for the damage and that I must have drove at the the roller. This is ridiculous, my engine was off. I was told at the time that there was CCTV in the car wash but head office have said that this was off. Convenient!

All I want is the damage to my car fixed. Does anyone have any advice please? Thanks in advance.

How bad is the damage and how much to fix? Could be claimed back through the small claims, do you have any legal cover with your insurance, credit cards or bank accounts?

You've got two options - go through your insurer, or get the work done and then pursue the car wash operator via small claim.
  • And subsequently wash your car by hand, yourself!
  • Trust pilot rating of "BAD", these people have been known in the valleys (hello there in Cardiff) to be avoided at all costs. IMO franchise out their equipment to "operators" So you have two options, go back to the site of the car wash, and ask for liability insurance I would also seek out the landowners and inform them that theres a dodgy car wash operator on their premises under the guise of IMO. Or Take IMO AND THE OPERATOR FRANCHISEE to Small claims track for the costs of repair.
