Why do you have to be gender fluid to wear a skirt?....0 -
People are silly about shorts. There was something about TFL staff trialling them during this awful weather but passengers found them unprofessional. Who cares as long as you're helping me find my train or platform??0

Is there mention of skorts? I used to wear them to work and they were deemed acceptable despite a "no shorts" policy.0

I would think a skort looks more like a skirt than shorts?
I mean, they probably don't literally mean no shorts. I presume they're fine with shorts under skirts/dresses which many women wear. They just don't like the look of them or they don't want to put the effort into defining okay shorts and not okay shorts.0 -

No it's not.
No one is allowed to wear shorts.0 -
Enforcing a rigid dress code in this weather just shows a lack of common sense on the part of management, particularly in non customer facing roles. Even for customer facing, I'd rather deal with somebody who is comfortable in what they are wearing than somebody sweating all over the place.
Where sex discrimination does come in is when a shorts ban is enforced for men because they are specifically forbidden in the company dress code, but leggings are permitted for women despite them also being forbidden in the dress code. That happened a few years ago when I worked for DWP.0 -

My seven year old's are shorts under a skirt - handy as she is always upside down doing cartwheels or handstands.
My skorts are shorts with a wrap over panel at the front so they look like shorts from the back and a skirt from the front. Comfortable and smart!0 -

Ah, fair enough. I just had a look at my skort pattern and it's like you say - guess I didn't realise because I'm yet to actually make them...0
