Car Insurance , ex employer won't give the no claims letter

Hi
My wife has just left a company that gave her a company car for the last 10+ years , we have now brought a car of her own but getting a reasonable quote is proving to be difficult , she is 54 , no convictions etc , the company's policy is not to give any letter or such to prove NCB , she can show she had a company car with her tax details but no one we see seems to use this .
anyone been in a similar situation and able to offer any guidance ??
thank you .
Bryan

Your wife will not have a NCB since she is not the insured party, just a named driver in effect.0

Who paid for her insurance? If it was her then she can get the NCD information from her insurer, if it was her employer then I doubt if there's much she can do if they won't play ball.0

Her tax details wont show if she had accidents or claims, thats why nobody uses it.
Going to be a case of choose the cheapest and hope you dont need to claim.
Thats what we did for my daughters first insurance, Diamond who get poor reviews but price counts..Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Does she know who insured the fleet, or the broker they used. Maybe they'll agree to confirm a named person has had no claims etc. Worth a shot. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0

Its quite possible there are no named drivers on a fleet policy. Our fleet policy does not list nor require details of the drivers - think the wording on the insurance certificate is something like "any person authorised by the Company to drive"0 -

I meant named, as in a specific person, ie the OP's wife. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
