Tiling job completed, am I being too fussy

Tiler has done a job for me and finished today, generally im happy with it.
However I did point a cut around a cabinet where it looks a big rough to me and he said its the best he could do, am I being too fussy:

I have had to pester him to mitre the trim and adjust some pretty uneven grout lines etc and I could sense he wanted to rush off. I can sense he thinks I am probably a problem customer for him, but at the end of the day why do tradesmen just not want to do a job right nowadays. Its always rush rush rush and off to the next one.

I personally would get him back to do top right around the socket, and the one top right near the wall.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I think the socket one will be ok once the socket is screwed in as its hanging loose at the moment.
The rest of the job which I thought as reasonable, not the best but not the worst tiling I have seen:0 -

Not a comment on you as a customer, just a general observation formed from the many, many threads on here from people whining about the cost of work they've had done and looking to get money off or avoid paying altogether.
With regard to your situation, I would agree that it's a little scruffy there. If the grout is scraped back, is there a straighter edge? I can't tell if the tile has been cut scruffily or whether there's been an overly-enthusiastic application of grout. My question would be why the tiler has laid out that wall's tiles so that he has thin slivers of tile at each end of the span. Ideally you avoid that by planning the rows better but with the two ends plus the window to consider, perhaps yours was the only feasible layout.0 -
He's not a professional tiler. More like a handyman. His setting out is poor and has lead to slivers at the end of row etc.
Something tells me the OP selectee this guy on price and price alone.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
By the time it's grouted you will think it is a good job. It always loks 10 times better when finished.
If anything all he would need is a small slither of tile to help fill the gap but on a whole it does look ok. The size of the tile and where it finishes is just unlucky.0 -
It will look better when its grouted but I've seen better. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Another vote for bad setting out of the tiles. Also the photo is not clear, but I would have requested trims around the window reveal. It does not look like they are there,0 -
Why are people saying it will look better once grouted? It has been grouted.
The cut around the cupboard is crap. I wouldn!!!8217;t have accepted that. He could have cut away the end of the cupboard trim and slotted the tile in behind it. Failing that it could still be much neater.
Same for the cut around the socket. Scruffy, not acceptable.0 -
having done my own metro tiles recently, I'd be annoyed at that cut out myself, needs cleaned up properly first but looks pretty bad to me, wouldn't let that stay in a clients house anywayThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Would be good to know what's telling you that....
Had quotes from £16m2 to £30m2. I've spent £30k on renovating the house in 3 months, the dry fit kitchen fitter was £800 alone (simple small kitchen that was reboarded before hand) stop jumping to conclusions based on my name.
He's a full time tiler. Setting out could be better but doesn't bother me that much.
Thanks to all other replies, he's coming back to sort the tile and I will screw back sockets on to check all is covered but we did have a look an it was so should be any gaps.0
