Downloading Audio from YouTube

Can anyone recommend a safe/easy method of downloading audio from YT vids?

I know lots of links come up when I google it but I don't know how safe or otherwise these sites are.

Also do any sites/tools enable snipping of clips, e.g. just saving a section of the audio?

I use "download-flash-and-video" from http://www.fnvfox.com/ on Firefox - that works well on most sites - try it and see whether it works for you...
Youtube downloader works on YT but not as many others as my suggestion

This is one of those questions like "which is the best antivirus". Lots of different ones, most of which work, so conflicting advice.
For what its worth: 4kVideoDownloader does it for me. I prefer one that isn't linked to a particular browser and this is a small stand-alone application that will download video and audio in whatever format you prefer.
