PPI credit card help

Hi there

I’m new to thinking about PPI, as recently remembered I had a nationwide credit card some years ago possibly with PPI. The Nationwide have confirmed that I did have a credit card with PPI but have not given me any dates. I believe I may have had this card as a student which I assume would be a valid reason to claim, but it may have been in my first job. This would have been a fixed term contract so not sure that would be a valid claim or not?. How can I find out the dates? Are nationwide obliged to tell me? I vaguely remember signing up to PPI over the phone but I can’t say for definite thst it was over phone as it was such a long time ago - probably somewhere between the years of 2000-2005. Any other valid reasons on which I can claim? I had a Lloyd’s bank loan too, possibly with PPI (can’t remember for sure) around the same time. Lloyd’s have just sent a form to fill in but not given me confirmation either way that had PPI or not. Any help appreciated

You have to provide the facts as you remember them, they should be able to tell you when the card was opened and maybe that would tie up with when you were a student or working. If not, a SAR would net you all their records on you which would have that detail.

The only valid complaint reasons are honest ones that you can verify

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Thanks. What is the deal with fixed term job contracts? I vaguely remember reading that they would only pay out after 3 years of employment but no idea if I’ve made this up!

It depends on the policy, some had rules where they would only pay out after a period (3 months maybe?) or after you have been employed for a period but full time employment would be fine in most cases.Whether the policy would cover a fixed term contract depends on the Ts & Cs, you'd have to ask them to confirm it
