Kitchen White Goods

Having been in our new build home for a few months it is time to think about covering fridge/washing machine/dish washer/oven/hob etc. They are all still under warranty and I wondered if there are companies doing a policy that covers them all rather than doing them all separately? To cover damage and call out for repair i guess.
Grateful for any advice, Mike

British Gas do cover for 3, 5 or a specified amount of appliances under 1 policy.
you do not need to be a british gas customer to purchase this cover. we have always found them excellent for various repairs over the years. financially it probably makes sense to not cover the goods and to put the money away each month in case of a future repair bill but we like the convenience of having someone to call there and then and know its all covered.

Personally I wouldn't bother with any such cover. Just set up a savings account and pay a regular amount in each month to cover the cost of repair/replacement as and when needed. I bought all new appliances in my current house in 2012 when i had the kitchen fitted. I have had 2 call outs while the fridge freezer and washing machine were still under guarantee but nothing more since then. Any money paid into such a policy could well be a waste. In the case of an actual call out, the company could easily say that the particular faults weren't covered.

Have had a fridge for over 12 years, no breakdowns. Similar length of service on the freezer & washing machine. The cooker was well over 25 years old before it got scrapped. Had to replace an element about three years ago (£15 for the element, and five minutes fitting it). Haven't given a thought to getting cover on the new appliances as it is generally a waste of money.

NO! Definitely don't cover your white goods lest they overheat. :)
