Match.com is a scam

So basically, I had subscribed to match for 3 months, then 24 hours later tried to cancel it when something came up. Match said that I had already sent an email to a user so thus, I was stuck with a 3 month subscription I didn't need. Bummer, but my mistake. They said they turned off auto renewal but 3 months later, yesterday, I get billed for another 3 months. They said they can't cancel the subscription, but they can downgrade it. So now I'm being billed for $30 because my auto renewal magically turned itself back on? Here's the thing, when they "turned off auto renewal", I checked my account and it didn't really look like it was turned off, but this time around, the settings are different than the last. It's against the FTC's rules to send a product and then demand payment from someone, how do I dispute this?

I can't sew and this sounds far from basic, it sounds complicated. From the use of dollars and mention of the FTC are you American?
This is a U.K. based forum. You may get better advice from a forum that has knowledge of US consumer laws.0 -
I called them telling them they may be violating the FTC and I would be seeking legal advice about this. About 2 minutes later they told me they put in a refund override to refund the full cost0

Well, you DID need the 3 month subscription to message that user!
I hope you don't cheap out on the user you emailed as well, should you end up on a date
Tap water + main course only, with a McFlurry for dessert. No tips. :rotfl:0 -
