Surely TC when allocating the seats would think - group of five - 1 adult & 2 children, 1 adult & 1 child. It's the way that TC have split the group that's nonsensical, not the fact that they did.
Or they may have just thought 'Party of 5, 2 seats available here, 3 available there, doesn't really matter which names we put to which seats, the adults in the party will surely use common sense'.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I'm still curious to know if the OP contacted Thomas Cook.
I suspect it's not a deliberate separation of kids from parents - and the problem (which doesn't exist in practical terms) it's so easily rectified.0 -
My experience is that they check boarding cards when you get on. But I think that's more for a final check that you're on the right flight. Telling you where to find your seat is just a courtesy and to get things organised . I've only ever known cabin crew to get involved if someone's in the wrong seat or occasionally to assist if someone's asked if they can move.
What i meant was that we had 3 seats to ourselves and the other couple had 3 seats to themselves ! We were originally seated as a 3 and a one (across the plane) but the other 2 seats were unoccupied so after take off we all changed seats and ended up being able to stretch out ! No-one bothered to check who should have been sitting where !0 -
Well most responsible/reasonable people would pay to book seats next to each other. You decided not to do this, so stop moaning.
Its an issue of your own making, swap a seat or get over it. Next time pay the very small fee to pre-book seats.0 -

For some people here it's not a problem to pay £50-60 more per direction after they've already paid for a package holiday and probably these people are supposed to go to a "rich men forum". I think I've read about this referred as a "family tax" paid to the airlines or something like that and Martin Lewis has been fighting it. I'm not only moaning and I'm going to make a big fuss out of it. And if more people start to confront being ripped off just because they have children, this could eventually come to an end. Only time will show.0
