Could it be argued that the BMW driver was at fault as he was the one seeking to change lanes?

It could be but it could equally be argued the BMW was ahead and the op should have backed off.

Hmm touched a nerve there. I wonder what car... oooh your username! :money:

I sold my Merc more than a year ago. I drive a Mazda now. Grow up.

You'll find idiotic roadcraft in all vehicles and none. It isn't brand specific.

Unfortunately it is a common trail in three German brands.

Yeah it was left lane turn left or no through road (red bar across the lane) or second lane continue straight.
Also laid out on the road with arrows

Your description ("restricted to people turning left at the PREVIOUS junction) doesn't make complete sense. Can you provide the location?

I don't mind that badly. I have minor scratches only and he's still an idiot. But I take your point that if someone uses their car as an aggressive instrument I should let him get on with it.

You might want to take a long look in the mirror because you were acting just the same as he was.

Yeah as in the junction. He ignored the obligatory left turn and then pretended nothing happened straight after when the left lane becomes a bus lane again. That's where he wanted to merge

hmmm I didn't launch myself into another lane after being a !!!! by ignoring the high way code to overtake people that were using the road properly

Go do one Tarambor. He had no right to propel himself into our lane.
....and there's why this collision happened. You cannot supress your sense of entitlement. Not even on a forum. You've no hope on the roads.
  • I find it ironic that you are worried about him smoking whilst driving when you have admitted to using your phone to take photos whilst driving
