There is no proper advice. Your option is to complain to Hastings and ask them to acknowledge the statement regarding disclosure of the cancellation in writing, and if you're not happy with the response you can go to the Ombudsman. I am sure that they would sooner send you a letter rather than incur the cost of an Ombudsman complaint

Hastings may be taking the view that they are declining to insure with a courier job similarly to when you change car and they decline to continue to insure you for that car for whatever reason.

Hastings did that me when I changed cars but it was not considered a cancellation.
