Should I pay to "hire towels" in a holiday let?

I was about to book a holiday let in North Devon when I noticed it said Towels for Hire on the facilities listed. I assumed this was probably beach towels. But when I came to the payment page online, it added a towel hire charge of £5 per person for a bath towel and a hand towel. I was a bit surprised as it is not a particularly cheap let in the first place. What does anyone else think? Is it becoming common to charge for towels on a holiday let? It is on a working farm so it is not as if the owners live elsewhere.

In my experience it's more common for towels not to be provided and to have to bring our own.0

In my experience towels are always included. What next table, chairs, tv and sofa hire charges?
I'd avoid anywhere that tried it any other way.0 -
A mix of all 3
not provided
provided free
provided with a charge.
guess if you want to stay there, pay the charge or take your own0 -

We've experienced all three - the place we've been to recently didn't provide bedding or towels but it was also cheaper than nearby rentals.
It's up to the owners what they want to provide.0 -
When we go self catering with family we take towels for showers, beach, handtowls, bath mat and tea towels as none provided. As we travel by car we have room for them if we were using the train or coach space would be more of an issue. When we go to a B&B just hubby and me we just take a towel each for the beach as general towels for showering and hand towels are provided. Maybe the let you have booked hires out towels if needed for a fee due to customers using public transport and needing case space for other essentials, or get a lot of foreign visitors that ing it cheaper to hire towels than pay extra baggage. You should still provide towels for beach/swimming pool.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

You can probably buy some for cheaper.0

I always hire our towels when going to haven. Saves on luggage space.0

The owner may have had problems with guest stealing the towels so now doesn't supply them.0

I go self catering three times a year and towels are never included in the price. They are expensive to hire though so I would take your own. If you are travelling by car it's not too much of a problem. I go by public transport so I have some of those camping type towels that dry quickly. Most holiday lets now have washing machines included in the price so not too much of a problem.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
