Virgin Money Credit Card

Does anyone know if Virgin Money contact you if they block your credit card? I've got a Virgin Atlantic credit card and tried to make a payment to Virgin Holidays yesterday and it was declined. I tried again and it was declined again so I'm assuming they've blocked the card.

I tried phoning them yesterday but was on hold ages and when I finally got through they had to put me through to a 'specialist department' and there would be another wait so I had to give up. I've now been on hold for 10 minutes today and I'm losing the will to live! I'm at the point of giving up with them!

And breathe!

I gave up in the end - I'm at work and I can't hold on forever! I think I'll be closing the card at this rate, although I don't want to lose the air miles!

The card was unblocked, I tried to make the holiday payment and it was blocked again! Another call to Virgin and they can't work out why a payment to Virgin Holidays would flag up in their system and block my card. They did a manual override so I could make the payment today but I hope this doesn't happen every month!

If I didn't want the miles I'd cancel the card as Virgin Money customer service is rubbish! The person I spoke to was fine, but their wait times are ridiculous, they don't reply to secure messages and they don't have an app.

Slightly off topic but have you ever tried to use your miles. Having tried to use mine, I have come to the conclusion you can only use them on flights they want to fill!

We don't use them for upgrades, we change them up for Virgin Holiday vouchers and pay them off our holiday. I know people say it's not a good deal but paid £300 off this year's holiday and we've already got £300 of next years so it works for us.
