as above , the maximum charge has been deemed to be £100 for the last 6 years (almost) and has been in the BPA CoP since its inception in late 2012 , after POFA2012 came info force
the BEAVIS case reinforced the £85 charge and he lost in 3 courts to several judges , so as the Supreme Court ruled on it then only government legislation will change it (if at all) - so check the Private Parking Bill CoP when its enacted perhaps in 2019 after its royal assent
example , some people might feel that a £200 "fine" is excessive for using a hand held device whilst driving, yet others may feel it should be double , but the government sets that limit0 -
I'm no judge, but 85 is a lot of money for anyone - especially in these times - anyway, I'll throw Morrisons an email as well.

They won't. Euro Car parks take it to POPLA and often win (not that anyone pays!).
I'm sure they'll cave
You need to get Morrisons or the landowner to cancel it. Google the retail park 'contact us'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

I've sent a message to Morrisons as well explaining what went on.
hopefully we'll get something sorted

Are there other shops in the retail park?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, this one is just morrisons, the next shops have a separate car park0

OK, so probably Morrisons can cancel it, like they always do re ParkingEye ones.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

just to be clear, this thread is not , repeat NOT , a little different , I have seen nothing "new or different" here , its just a variation on the same theme
and I do not see the GDPR helping you here either
and I am sure that you havent named the driver for some personal reason, in which case you are taking their "lumps" for them , on their behalf
if you really thought that the driver should be dealing with it or stumping up the cash, then you would have named the driver and therefore been exempt from that point forward
so assuming you do not want to go down that route, you are saddled with making a silk purse from a sows ear , hence the advice so far
hopefully Morrisons cancel it, so you dont have to try a popla appeal, or defend a possible court case within 6 years in your local county court0 -
Redx,
you are right about there being nothing new, as i'm sure, looking at your status here, you've seen everything there is to see
in a good way!
I just wanted to ask the question, particularly with regards to GDPR in the first instance, with it being applicable to all PI data not just 'online' as many people assume.
As it has turned out the regular process of appeal applies here and I've sent appeals to both Euro Car Parks and Morrisons.
Kind regards and many thanks

yep, no problem, the GDPR issue being raised is good at the moment because its topical, its also true that if you can PROVE that a breach occurred you could refer it to the ICO and hopefully gain traction from it in a GDPR court claim
not that it helps you in the short term or in this actual parking ticket case
it would only help you in a possible court case by you in the future based on the PPC having been proved to have breached your GDPR rights, which seems unlikely unless the parking laws change (like the Sir Greg Knight CoP bill)0
