Credit file update

Hi.

I’m looking for a ome information as to when a credit record is updated.

I had car finance but was involved in an accident. My insurance paid off my car and left me with 3k change.

I’m looking to finance another vehicle. Would it be best to wait until my credit file is updated to reflect the amount paid off or does the finance companies have access to all of this information?

Have you checked the three credit reports to see what is listed?

It takes on average 6 weeks for updates to generally appear on your credit file, unless its for a Payday loan which are often recorded on the MODA system which is almost real time. So do you want to go 6 weeks without a car, when you will probably be able to get one anyway?
