pop ups on Chrome / Android

I keep getting these popups, I don't think they are related to the web site I am browsing at the time. They say I have won £500 or an iphone 7 or a Galaxy S7.
The web address is something like https://www.google.co.uk-win-an-iphone-7-samsung-s7.dxquit.com
I have tried clearing the cache - surely Android can't get malware like Windows XP!
Anything else I could try?

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .
To the right of the address bar,
Scroll down to Site settings.
Touch Pop-Ups to get to the slider that turns off pop-ups.
Touch the slider button again to disable the feature.0 -
