sky question?

I have sky but no longer pay to have the channels but i still get the free to air channels i am trying to get e4 for big brother but it does not show that and says i have to upgrade for it,how come when its on freeview but i cant get it on sky and help would be great

Because C4 & Sky have a contract that doesn't allow E4 to be shown without a subscription package.

alanrowell is correct. You would be best asking E4 this very question and then maybe they may decide to broadcast in the clear but I believe that Sky lower the carriage (the cost to E4 for Sky to broadcast and update their SkyGuide/EPG, etc) costs for those that decide to have Sky encrypt their channels and offer then as subscription only channels.

In order to negotiate the barrier, C4 said today that E4 would continue to broadcast encrypted via satellite for the foreseeable future. i have the old NTL feed to my house and have connected that to the tv (without box/subscription) and e4 can be tuned in via this, along with sky one and a few others..
