Powergen final bill of account
Options
Hi experts!
We are moving next week. We get gas and electricity from Powergen. I have just had a look on the web-site to find out how I go about closing account/final meter readings etc.
Have found out most of what I wanted to know apart from.... with a final bill, do you have to pay it off, in full, at the time of moving, or can it be adjusted or added onto new account in new house?
New house is also Powergen for both gas and electricity.
We pay by direct debit.
thankyou for your answers!

as a direct debit customer this should mean that you won't get a very large bill. I'd advise you to call them up and ask to speak to the home moves dept. they will be the people who close down ur accoutn and set up the new one. there is no reason why they cant move the balance from one account to another although sometimes this may take some time.0

Hi,
Ok, it depends on the Supplier billing system. If both properties are the same Supplier, it may be possible.
You need to get your new account set up before you ask and see if they will transfer the debt over. Then they would adjust your DD scheme to incorporate the remainder.
Some Suppliers may just prefer the easy route but if they can do it and you want it, push them a bit.
You can't do it with PP meters though, it's no longer allowed by Ofgem.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
