I'm looking to open a saving s account with a Singapore bank. I have tried a couple but they do not deal with UK residents. Any suggestions please.

AFAIK, a lot of countries require you to be resident and/or have a work permit, before you can open any accounts at a bank.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Try HSBC, they are your only hope.

Why do you need one? If it's just for visiting, then there might be other options for you.

  • As much as I hate them.... HSBC for the account.. at least to start with

However it might be better to use a broker to convert your money and wire it to your account as HSBC might hammer you on the conversions. I believe one of martins guides goes over brokers. You need to do your research on this.

Singapore has lots of laws, rules and regs regarding Banking, Expats, Investing etc

I fact they have a rule about just about everything you could possibily think of

I would do a bit of research.....Monetary Authority of Singapore would be a good starting place
