Under the new AFC pay deal the pay for the old spine points 21 and 22 (1st and 2nd points of band 6) is the same £28,050
By and large increment dates are being phased out so that there will just be a starting salary for a band and a final salary for a band normally 5 years later

Your pay should be something along the lines of:
    May 17 £26,302
    May 18 £27,361
    Jul 18 £28,050
    Apr 19 £30,401
    Apr 20 £33,176

    Plus any higher area supplements

So your salary was £26,565, so following the pay award would go to £28,050? The new pay award then has the next step point with the salary also at £28,050.

This might make it clearer https://www.nhsemployers.org/your-workforce/2018-contract-refresh/pay-journey-tool

And yes....this wasn't what we were led to believe!

My salary was 26565 from May 2017 until May 2018 when it increased to 27635-i was paid this in both may and june abd it is stated on my payslip. According to the pay grids that are widely shared it states those on 27635 move across to 29177....but that has not happened with me. They have put me on 28050

I don't know what pay grids you've seen but on the official ones it very clearly states that your new increased salary for this year and future years is based on what you were paid on 1st April 2018, not anything since as long as you haven't changed band.

I'm very confused by the whole thing. I'm in Scotland so possibly a whole different ball park as nothing ever seems to be the same, I'm on band 3 spinal point 8. I was due to go onto point 9 mid July.

My health board have said we will be paid our 3% rise this pay packet but no back pay yet - some say that will come in the next packet and some say it's not coming until we vote on the 9% over 3 years deal.

My payslip shows me being on point 9 and the calculations all looks as if I've been worked out as being on point 9 but the amount is for point 9 on the old rates where I expected my payslip to be either worked out as point 8 on the new rate or a proportion of point 8 new rate and point 9 old rate.

The issue seems to be,based on the commentary on a previous link and here, the pay grids that people were shown got read wrong because they were based on the April 1 date, any one getting increments after that were using the wrong pine point to see what rises they would get.

Seems the unions also missed this very important message on the deal they were working on.

eg I think this is one of the previous versions used.
    https://www.unison.org.uk/content/uploads/2018/04/Payjourneytracker-manualversion2.pdf

so for grade 6 spine point 21 at April 1 £28,050 was the correct salary,

What I don't understand is what happens in the interim to the previous increment dates. although for someone on 21 the move to the 22 equivilent is the same pay.

These are quite a good illustration of the new system from April 1st

    band 6.

Hi, I had exactly the same issue. Did you get to the bottom of it? I'm confused about what my pay will be going up to this time. Obviously bottom of band moves to 30401 and this is what i am now expecting on 1st April. However, my increment date is 6th April, so would I move up a spine at that point? Confused as I'll be into my 3rd year as a band 6 by then but still bottom? Can anyone confirm either way?

Spine points are being phased away from.

Shows exactly what you will get. Remember to use the spine point that you were on, on 31st March 2018.

From what I recall, some of the "confusion" was caused by some odd mathematical anomalies.
The new wage which considered the pay rise was in several cases an identical amount to the next increment up, which I think is why there was so much confusion.
It was poorly explained that the pay rise also effectively included the increments, hence why in some cases people appeared to be getting a very substantial pay rise above and beyond the advertised 3% (?)
Depending on your exact pay point, some people gained more than others and any increments awarded from 1st April untill the end of May were rescinded.
Some staff in my workplace actually noticed a cut in their pay. This was due to the pay/pension threshold whereby their pay rise was wiped out by additional contributions to the pension when they moved between contribution levels.
The unions have a lot to blame for the mess for either failed to properly interpret the pay offer and/or failing to fully inform their members. Instead they just saw the numbers and thought "that seems like a good deal"
As always, the devil is in the detail
Be thankful you still have some element of increment, I have been top of mine for over 5 years with no realistic prospect of moving up a band !
