Had a look at these and they dont seem very thick, I know they are only a mattress topper though. TJ Hughes has them at same price.0

Just gave my nearest store a ring as to far to travel if they were not available there.
Asked about thickness and was told they are only 1" thick, so not really such a great bargain.0 -
A 1" thickness of memory foam is a total waste of time as there is not enough depth to mould into which defeats the object. Save your money. Buy a proper memory foam matress with at least 3" depth.0

Actually 3" is too deep. If the memory foam is too deep it will engulf you making you too hot, and making it difficult to change position. The optimum depth is 2" to 2.5". I know half an inch on top doesn't sound much, but it can make a big difference.0 -

Never been 'engulfed' with mine nor found it difficult to change position or found it too hot.I have found it very comfortable.
It would have to be nearer 5" to encounter the problems you suggest.0 -
I bought 1 inch thick mattress toppers from Tesco, and they cost about £90 each for king size. I bought them for a touring caravan we had, and they did make sleeping on the beds (which were settees made up into beds) a little more bearable - but not fantastic.
However, since we sold the caravan, we now use them on the beds at home. The guest bed has always been a bit on the "firm" side, but it now is wonderful to sleep on.
I suppose it depends on what you are putting it onto - if you merely want to soften up a hard mattress - they work - but they wont make a silk purse out of a sows ear, so as to speak!
I don't think they are bad value at all - they are about half of the price I would of paid at Tesco - so worth a go if you are getting a few aches and pains from a too firm mattress.I'm a nutter :j0 -
I bought a kingsize one of these a few months back from B&M. My old matress was on its last legs as you could feel the springs but with this one i'm sleeping loads better than i did even when the mattress was new.0
