Hi, I am hoping to get a new shed/workshop to replace an old concrete garage. My current concrete base needs to be raised by few inches. i Will put steel mesh in but question is do I put DPM (no idea if old Base has DPM). If so do I simply lay DPM over existing base and then put new concrete on top? Thanks

Will your new shed have a wooden floor? If yes I wouldn't bother.0

But if the OP is planning on using the slab as the floor, it would be as well to put a DPM down. Just me mindful of the thickness of the new layer of concrete if you are planning on drilling holes in it to bolt down any machine tools or benches.
Putting steel reinforcement in sounds a bit over the top unless you are thinking of some seriously big machines. Her courage will change the world.

Thanks for replies. Shed will have a wooden floor. There will be no slabs.
There will be no heavy duty machines going in there. Mesh is just for some mental piece of mind.0 -
Shed will have a wooden floor. There will be no slabs.
The term "slab" in the context of a shed (or garage) base refers to the single piece of concrete that is poured in. It is often more convenient to call it a slab (of concrete).
As your shed will have a wooden floor, one little tip - Staple some narrow strips of plastic along any timbers that are sitting in direct contact with the concrete. This will limit the amount of moisture being sucked up by the timber and should limit the amount of rot forming. Her courage will change the world.
