    Update-
Rattan W are still pushing for have a new chair with some money back, or else i can pay a c£250 charge for them to collect the lot.

It's probably fine furniture but it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth so I just want rid, however I don't think they will bend to collecting and giving a full refund despite my softly softly approach.

How do I force the issue? For the sake of it I don't want to have to go small claims etc but I just want a refund like a reputable dealer would do in line with CRA!

It's really the damages items being the main problem and due to the hassle etc we would rather have a full refund than keep furniture which has caused such distress.

Especially as we seem to be within our rights to ask for a full refund due to damaged items.

So damaged item aside, how did the rest of the furniture cause distress??

ETA If the chair wasn't damaged you would have been happy with the set?

Yes, I can see why you wouldn't want to use furniture that has caused so much upset. It would remind you of the distress it caused every time you used it. Most upsetting.

How did you pay? If credit card, start a section 75 claim with your bank. If a debit card, start a chargeback request.

If neither of those is an option then send the retailer a letter before action.
