1st PCN charge

Hi everyone. I've received a PCN charge (first one) so in a bit of a tiz. Firstly, they have got my name wrong. It is addressed to OK & then my surname e.g. OK Smith with my correct address (I guess that is supplied by DVLA).

The driver parked at Astle retail park, west brom to shop at M & S on recommendation from a friend. the car was parked for a total of 25 mins but no one saw the posters saying that it was pay and display. after receiving the PCN, I rang M & S to check this out and they advised that its pay and display and that they do not get involved in parking. I know we wont be going back there again!

How do I find out the landlord to complain too? I'm really nervous about this. thank you for your support

Yes so check your V5. Likely your V5 is wrong, so get that correceted!

You havent done what you agreed to do, which is to read teh NEWBIES sticky thread - on the main page for this forum, "stuck" about 3 threads down from the top.

EDIT YOUR POST now. "The driver" is the only clue to the identity of the driver you will ever publish ANYWHERE - no "I", "He", "husband" "wife" etc

Thank you for your help I did read the newbie thread but I couldn't understand it - i'm really sorry. My V5 does state my correct name and address so must be down to their system.

But takes more than one reading to sink in for everyone. Concentrate on #1 for starters

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use posts in your thread against you

Thank you. I have sent off the template letter to Smart Parking from the NEWBIE section but could not see anything to complain to the landlord (but that might be my mistake as I'm slightly panicked). I've googled the landlord so have their details.

Complained to M & S and they said they cannot do anything as its a 3rd party

I would also contact the DVLA and check that they have the correct name on their records, because if the V5C is correct then you need to know that their digital record is also correct

Just checked with DVLA and my details to the vehicle are correct so not sure why they have the wrong name on the letter

I've now emailed the CEO at M & S direct - not sure I was succinct enough but fingers crossed.

System

If you go to Google Street View you can see a sign on the way in that refers to paying for parking. The sign is so low down it would be easy to miss as you have done.

Take a screen pic of the entry to show the poor signage as they are likely to avoid showing that installation and may produce other pics that may not have been there at the time.

They often do have this sort of "error"
