Carers Allowance/Income Support and work.

Hello,
I'm receiving Carers Allowance and Income Support.
I have been looking at supplementing my income but it just doesn't seem worth it, according to a benefits calculator site I would lose £44.50 Income Support per week and only gain an additional ~£60 per week for 16 hours work, meaning I'm working for £4 per hour in an evening and weekend driving job.
Am I correct in my assumptions of losing Income Support?
Many thanks.

You have to be working under 16 hours per week to receive Income Support so your IS would cease but you would continue to receive CA assuming your earnings are below £120 per week nett.0

There's no 16 hour limit on a Carers working hours while on IS.
Are you sure? Reading the gov.uk site and it states must be working under 16 hours per week. It's pretty much irrelevant anyway as the earnings limit for CA is £120 and that is less than 16 hours at minimum wage for a person over 25.0 -
Agree but for future reference only.
See para 2 0 4 6 5 below for carer exemption to hours working rule while on Income Support
