Being pursued for a debt that is not mine

Hi,
I have recently been contacted by Motor Mile Finance/Lantern via email claiming I have a debt outstanding with them.
On requesting further details, this was taken out in my name, at a former property where I resided but several months after I had moved (but a former partner still lived). It is my belief they have fraudulently taken out credit in my name to cause me issues and to affect my credit rating.
However, MMF/Lantern are requesting I provide them with personal details such as my current & former address/contact details etc to 'look into' the matter. However, I am concerned that by doing so they will be able to pursue me for a debt that is not mine as they will then have my address and such.
Does anyone have any advice as to what to do with regards to this matter as I do not wish to be made liable for a debt that is not mine?
TIA

They'll just refer him to action fraud so he may as well go direct to them.0 -
Somebody took out the loan.
Somebody hasn't paid.
They have your name on the loan paperwork.
It is not your name/loan, it's fraud.
The only starting point to move this forward is to report the fraud to the police. Any other attempt to just say "not me" just looks like you did receive the money and are attempting a very poor "not me" excuse and they will come after you for the debt that is in your name.
Only by reporting it as a fraud to the police will you get free of this.... because somebody has to pay and it's got your name on it.0
