Hi everyone my name is Carole and I admit to being a lurker on this thread
I have now officially "come out of the closet"

Watch this thread at least 5 times daily off to Florida in 8 weeks and need the rate to be going up. I am a complete US novice, never been before so all advice welcome.

Am an avid fan of Mr Monkfish and Mr Bond and their valuable/amusing threads, keep it up boys! :T

Oh by the way now I am out i will post a question, I have 140 euros which was left over from a holiday last year and not much chance of using them any time soon, I thought i could change them to $ and it would give a little xtra spends. I know its not a lot but every little helps. I have been told by Lloyds and travel agents that I have to change them to £ first and then to $ which seems a bit silly, will I be able to just change them to $ when i get out there and what sort of exchange rate is it for the euro over there????

    thanks

Hello Carole! Welcome to the dark side. Once you're here there's no way out ;)

I'd look at changing them when you get to the US. When I was in Vegas a couple of years back I took some NZ$ and UAE Dirhams. They changed them in the casinos no worries and got a much better rate than here.
As for the rate I've no idea :)

    Cheers

    Neil

    hi Carole,

current rate for Eur/USD is 1.317.

i guess tourist rates would be in the region of 1.265 ish

hope this helps, and welcome along!!!

Certainly do. it's actually in "Armitage" (spookily enough), about 4 miles outside the cosmopolitan metropolis that is Rugeley. I used to rent a flat that looked right over the factory!
It was lovely, every day waking up to a brand new layer of dust on my car...

you sorted you leak out yet?

  • well, another poor overnight session has seen Cable tumble back to trade around 1.4660
