FYI (from Reuters)...
Sterling climbed to session highs against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday, buoyed by a rise in U.S. stocks and comments from Britain's finance minister, Alistair Darling.
The pound hit session highs at $1.4445, up more than 1 percent on the day.
Traders said sterling was being boosted by gains on Wall Street. The currency has become positively correlated with the market's increased appetite for risk.
Darling's testimony before the House of Lords committee about coordinated action to boost economies also helped the pound.
"I think it is absolutely essential we make as much progress as possible towards reaching common ground on the need to jointly support our economies. Countries all over the world are taking action together." said Darling. Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
