How long do we give a seller to respond to an offer?

This is only me but I knew what I would be willing to drop to when I sold my house so even factoring in work, etc - the longest it took me to accept/reject offers was half a day.0

To a certain extent how long (or short) a deadline you give depends on how willing you are to go through with whatever "threat" (for want of a better word) you're giving if they exceed that deadline. So what are you going to do if they don't respond by the end of tomorrow?
Personally, factoring in weekends and the other pressures on people's time, I don't think anything up to a week is unreasonable, although towards the end of that time I would be keen to know whether the offer has actually made it to the vendor and is under active consideration, or if not, when a decision is likely to be made regardless of whether it's the one I want or not.0 -
I think every seller have a figure in mind and If as a buyer I am hitting close (or not) to that figure then it shouldn't (Few hours IMHO) really take long to accept or decline.0
