Hello,
Im not sure if I'm posting im the right place. Apologies if not! But I need some advice.
We had a loft conversion including ensuite started in February, we were told the work would take 6 weeks but it took almost 6 months! We have had numerous problems with the company, they contract their workers out but overall they should manage the work?! Anyways they left us in a mess, holes in the roof and no bannister, wures everywhere for weeks because the builders were kicked off site. I could go on and on about the problems we have had! The work has now been completed, but then our drains started backing up, when we got a drainage company out they found when the new toilet was fitted the top of the waste pipe has gone down the pipes causing blockage. It cost us £270 for this to be unblocked, never mind the damage that was caused by the toilets/baths/sinks overflowing. I emailed the company telling them i wanted reimbursing for the £270, but they are ignoring my messages and wont take my calls. This is a reputable company too!
Is it worth seeking legal action ? Thanks in advance

For £270? Not really, if you pursue it and win it will be a moral victory but by the time you prep your case for small claims you'd probably pay £270 to not have to bother.
You could always try writing them a recorded delivery and including a copy of the invoice and the threat of legal action to get your money back but they could call your bluff. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0 -
Hmm yeah i thought so! Yeah ive emailed them saying i will be seeking legal advice but theyre not even acknowledging it! Annoying! Ahh well ! Thank you for your reply though0

How do you know this company is reputable? It doesn't sound like they know what work is being done under their name. Do they have a proper complaints procedure?0

I second this. People have funny ideas about how and what reputable means. All that matters to OP is their conversion and clearly that was not done in a reputable way.
From OP's perspective can the conversion now be deemed signed off and an asset? To tick this box has OP got the audit trail for Buildings Regualtions Inspections and a Completion Certificate?0
