Its seriously easier not to engage. They were told on another thread they were giving dangerously wrong opinions on posts which did not require opinions, so now this is being parroted out.

Exactly. If you are a sex offender it does not mean you can never work again. It means you can never again be left alone or put into situations where you could potentially offend again with a child or vulnerable adult, so care work, school work etc would be out.
It doesnt mean you can never work again, because you are interacting with the public... that is a ridiculous thing to believe.0 -
@Comms as it stands now only the jobs on the document above require a DBS check. The cleaning job requires a DBS check despite not meeting the criteria. A sex offender isn!!!8217;t going to be offered a job when the DBS comes back with th offence.
So are you basically saying that all employees should be allowed to do a DBS check and refuse a job based on any offence - or have to stick within the the law which is only getting DBS checks if they meet ththe above criteria?0 -

Hold on, you don't get to ask a loaded question and not get picked up on it.
Do I think that all employers should be allowed to do DBS checks - yes. Can they refuse that person work, yes.
But as the law currently stands, obviously all businesses MUST adhere to it.
You're being too simplistic. A cleaner working in a school requires a DBS, one working in a factory (probably) doesn't.0
