Gap under main front door

Dear All,
Looking for some advice please.

I have a wooden front door with a stone slab underneath. There is a large gap - approx 5mm at the edges and 11mm in the central section under the door - this lets in wind and insects etc. the door is about 40mm thick. there is also an angled section of wood at athe front to deflect rainwater which overhangs the concrete slab once the door is closed. I cant take the door off its hinges as it is very heavy.

Is there some sort of brush or flexible rubber strip i can glue on the concrete slab that will block the variable gap under the door? Any advice/links to products appreciated.

Thank you

There are plenty of products available. Some attach to the door and some to the floor.

In your case I think you should find something that attaches to the door rather than the floor but both are possible.

One of these should do the job.

    Google for more options.

Thank you for your reply....i have done a lot of googling already.

It is hard to attach anything to the underside of the door without taking the door off its hinges. Also as the gap is 5mm-10mm, all the metal threshold type products are too thick to place in between the door and the slab.

Can you fit a brush strip to the bottom of the inside face of the door?

Anything you add to the concrete slab is likely to be a trip hazard as well as possibly being an eyesore.

You could try attaching some foam insulation strips under the door but you would probably need to remove the door to do a proper job so, if a brush strip eliminates most of the problem, then just do that.

All house need some ventilation so you don't want to completely seal every single gap in doors and windows.
