in Cutting tax
If someone is made redundant part way through a tax year (for instance now which would be April 2018 to July 2018), is the employer obliged to issue a P11d?
and if so, would they send it in the next few weeks or do they wait for the tax year to finish (i.e. 5th April 2019) before they issue it?

You would get a P11D after the tax year has finished. Your ex-employer should be able to give you an estimate of your benefits before then.0

The payroll software we use doesn't allow a P11d to be issued until the tax year end - there is simply no mechanism within HMRC to receive/process P11ds mid way through the tax year. As said above, ask your employer if they're able to estimate the figure, or if little has changed from last year, you can time apportion it yourself and will be close enough.0
