Flat Tyre

Hello,
Just looking for a wee bit of advice. My car has a flat tire and has a large screw through the centre of the rear wheel. I don’t have a spare tyre as the car only comes with the foam insert stuff.
My plan was to inflate the tyre and drive to my local garage, which is about 4-5 miles away. Just wanting to know if you would recommend this or is it too dangerous?
I don’t want to use the foam as I think the tyre can be repaired and I believe using the foam is a temporary measure and the tyre is rendered useless after using it.
It looks like a slow puncture so I don’t imagine the tyre would lose too much pressure on the way to the garage.
Cheers

Drive it slowly and you should be OK
But expect the garage to scrap the tyre.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
If the screw is through the centre tread of the tyre then they may be able to repair it. If it's close to the edge of the tread pattern then you will need a new tyre.
If the leak is slow you should be ok to drive it a few miles.0 -
I had a nail through the middle of my tread. I drove it slowly to Motorway Tyres which is about a mile away. I left the car with them & they said they'd phone when it was ready. No call so I called them, it was ready so I went to pick it up. The boss apologised for not calling & didn't charge for the repair.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

The last flat I had was repaired free of charge too.
I was surprised but didn't argue.0 -
Should be repairable as long as not been driven whilst flat. The foam stuff can usually be cleaned out and repaired - most tyre places just can't be bothered though so play the 'it's scrap' card.0

or just remove the wheel and take it to the tyre place they should be able to plug it.. You will likely be fine to pump it up and drive it slowly to a tyre place.0

If its a slow puncture and there is a local garage just pump it up. No need to use the foam. You can stop during the journey to check and add air if needed.0
