I've read somewhere someone said might as well go onto UC as its going over to that anyway so might as well get it over with? is that right if youre already in support group, or awaiting appeal etc?

and also get £147 a week on support group on the UC instead of £127 a week .

You've got more faith in the DWP than me - I'm not sure that anyone there or in government ever had any clue how it was intended to work!

My initial concerns were about real time updates, since then UC has gone for worse to desperately worse.

One of the issues raised either above or in a link was that the appropriate person isn't notified when a message is added to teh journal. As above I like the journal because I can't use the phone and have found the person who is I presume my case manager in Blackpool very responsive and helpful. But I left a message for my work coach a week ago, no response as yet. I wonder whether being in LCWRA group means they don't get notified.

If you are refused ESA, and think that decision is wrong - then you can appeal the decision and have your ESA resumed pending a hearing date.

    (and subsequent posts).

Thankyou for that information. The main thing i'm worried about is the drop in income because i'm having severe financial difficulties at the moment. Would it be safe to assume that having the ESA resumed pending an appeal would be at the lower assessment rate of £73.10 a week ?

Or would the work related activity component of £29.05, that I also currently get, be restored as well ?

If you're found fit for work after your assessment then you would go back onto assessment rate for ESA of £73.10, once the Tribunal accept your appeal. Providing you don't apply for UC of course.

Thanks. Sadly, it's not a case of "if" but "when" I'm found fit for work.

You won't have a work coach as you are not in the intensive work search group. Best to send it to case manager who can contact a work coach in the job centre for you.

LCWRA do not have a work coach, as you are not looking for work.
