Old debt not defaulted

Afternoon guys,

With the help of these forums I have managed to see my credit report.

I have a few defaulted debt balances, which I understand will stay on file for 6 years from the default date.
I have however noticed a credit card (taken out in 2010) on the report which has not defaulted, last updated on 30th June 2013, showing an outstanding balance of £399.

What's confusing is that I'm sure the same account appears also on the first page of the report where it says balance is £0 and was last updated to 30/06/2018 and exactly the same lender name and credit card company as above..

I'm a bit lost whether to touch this or not, I have the defaulted ones on there and they have a 2-3 years to go. However what I don't want now is a new default registering and starting another 6 year wait.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you had any letters or statements since 2013? Do you live at the same address since 2013? Rather than simply going on the credit report, what about the credit card company?

It could be that they have sold the debt on, so it will appear as zero, the new owner may register a default and would send a notice of assignment to the last known address.

Makes sense if it has been updated last month, could be a fresh new default coming my way then... Great just what I didn't want to happen, will it ever end..

Been through some really rough times including edge of losing home very very close. For last two years I've left everything that was defaulted and got on with life with managing two new credit cards and always making payments and keeping them up to date and balances cleared every month. It just looks like this defaulting is never going to leave me.

Defaulted debts just don't go away, they have a habit of coming back when you least expect them. You have two active cards, so whilst the old CC provider may not have actively pursued it, a DMC probably will. You don't mention the state of your finances, or what you are aiming to achieve by diligently using your new credit.
