Business car insurance

Hi guys,

So I recently needed to add business insurance into my cover, I’m with Hastings direct smart miles who charged me £194 to add business insurance onto my cover. However when I checked online, their website said they don’t give business insurance, but when I go online to change my policy it lets me change it to several types of business insurance options so I opted for “business use by you only”. I’m just wondering if this is a mistake on their website and is that maybe why they charged me so much because they don’t usually offer it as an insurance option?????

I was also wondering if this insurance covers me to apply for a job as a care worker/ assistant which involves driving to and from clients to assist them with needs in the comfort of their own home? I’ve already applied for the job so any advice would be great! :j

You're going to need to ask them. But if it's a selectable option on their website then that would indicate they do give it, wouldn't it?

Yeah I thought that too. thanks I’ll give them a ring. Do you know whether it covers my potential job role or is that something I need to ask also?

You've presumably declared your occupation to them when taking out the policy? But even if not, yes I'd suggest you ask them.
