Finding Cheap Car Insurance for Recently Passed

Hi
Just wondering if anyone had any advice on where to get or how to get down the price of first time car insurance. So far the cheapest i've been quoted is £612 from ECar, do you reckon this is the best i can do?. I'm 27 and passed my driving test in the summer, getting a 98 1.3 Fiesta this evening and that's what the quotes for. Dont really have time to do passplus at the moment but need to get on the road now due to work. Are there any cheaper places or tips anyone might have.
