Faulty Car - Right to Reject
I bought an ex demo 2017 Peugeot 5008 with about 7000 miles on the clock from a Peugeot dealer. In general I haven’t been too impressed with it, especially the mileage claims (another story entirely). Within two weeks of ownership I have noticed a fault with the massage seat. It is glitchy, doesn’t stay on, sometimes won’t come on at all. When it does briefly function it freezes the touchscreen and the controls become unresponsive. I am concerned that this might be the start of a bigger electrics fault (or indeed it might not be).
Under the consumer rights act 2015 do I have the right to reject the car within the first 30 days and expect a full refund?

Only if you can prove that a fault exists and importantly was there when you purchased it.I bought an ex demo 2017 Peugeot 5008 with about 7000 miles on the clock from a Peugeot dealer. What does the dealer say about fixing it? Could be something simple?0 -
Somebody doesn't like the replies he's had to either thread In Another Place...0

So in reality this is more about buyer's remorse and you're simply looking for an excuse to reject the car.0

On the contrary. I love the replies I'm getting on Pistonheads forum. It is provoking a REALLY interesting discussion. I thought by asking here I would get different views.
You're getting the same replies over there as you're getting here. My first question to you was what did the dealer say about the repair and that it may be something simple. Pretty much as per what other people put over there as their first questions.
And by it being a REALLY interesting discussion, do you mean its REALLY interesting that you're getting comments like- "Rather than moaning on the internet looking for answer that doesn't exist go to the dealer and get them to fix the seats and do a software flash on the screen or just sell the car and move on."
- "The tone of your posts sounds like that as a person, you're, for the most part, genuinely not a dcik. So don't act like one."
- "Im glad i dont have to deal with the public in my job"
- "buyers remorse... some people can't take responsibility for their own choices and suck up the cost of their mistake and move on."
Which would pretty much be my view on your problem / original post on it -- yes, you should let the dealer repair it,
- no you cant reject it for something minor like this,
- no its not necessarily a sign that you're going to have problems in the future
- and yes it does sound like buyers remorse.

Seriously? I've owned a car for two weeks and it has developed an as yet undiagnosed electrical problem, yet I'm the one that's supposed to bend over and take it like a man / woman (equal rights an' all). My God you guys are weird. Grow and set and stand up for your rights. I'm pretty much done with asking questions online as the majority of folks are out to hang ME out to dry for their perceived analysis of my problems.

Major Flounce! :rotfl:
You get them to fix what is a very minor fault. It could be a loose wire for all you know, and even if its not you've every right to get them to fix it and i am sure they will.
You cant reject a car because you think it "might" have problems in the future.
You wanting to reject it seems more based on buyers remorse than actual need.
No sane person has told you otherwise, either here or over on PH.0 -

Not your first attempt at finding a reason to reject it though is it?

Fuel consumption? When it turns out you're getting within a couple of MPG of whats typical for the car and the manufacturers figures are for comparative purposes only.
