Has anyone got any experience in cleaning stains from Travertine tiles?
These tiles are on a fireplace that has a log burning stove ,( I think is the wrong place for Travertine as I understand they do best in a bathroom or outside). Also they have been cleaned with something like an ordinary household cleaner which has left stains that cant be shifted. I think the porous nature of these tiles has left the marks but nothing seems to shift the stain. Anyone got any ideas?

Lithofin Power Clean will clean the stains but if the stone wasn't sealed and it is a light colour, the chances are that you won't be able to remove all of the soot deposit. If you do manage to remove it, you should use a good sealant.
A neighbour had success in a similar situation with a limestone fireplace with the Lakeland magic sponge thing - https://www.lakeland.co.uk/24466/3-Magic-Eraser-Stain-Remover-Cleaning-Blocks0 -
I used P600 sandpaper on my Portugese Limestone fireplace to remove stains and it came up a treat. I then sealed it with the Lithofin sealer mentioned in an earlier post
