error installing itunes.

hi there, i wonder if anyone can help with this little problem, i've just tried to install itunes (latest version) because i couldnt get a iphone to sync with my old version of itunes, i deleted the old itunes from the control panel (add and remove programs) tried re-installing and i now get a error everytime showing ''
cannot create directory 'C:/programfiles/quicktime//QTSystem/quicktimestreamingextras.resources/fr.iproj' A file with that name already exsists please rename or remove the file and click retry''


any idea on what i can do because now i haven't got itunes i cant even sync my old nano that i use to go to work with.
