The DD is at best an educated guess ; the quarterly bill if based on actual readings will be correct. At the end of the year you will pay for wht you have used.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Paying by DD has a small discount on your bill as does opting for paperless billing.

    Thanks

    Usually ... but not always.

It can depend on your personal circumstances, but a comparison site will assist.
For the extra effort of pressing a different radio button (e.g. on Energyhelpline) to check the costs, I recommend you check. :)

This depends on the supplier & tariff; not all suppliers offer such a discount and those that do may not be the cheapest.

A comparison site will assist in identifying the cheapest option for an individual's circumstances. :)

If you use the Citizens Advice Bureau comparison site and ask only for quarterly billing, it will display at the top of the results how much cheaper monthly DD can be over the quarterly billing. It will give a link to click to get the monthly results

I've noticed that with CEC if you select quarterly you can miss out on better tarrifs that can be available quarterly, just not displayed.

So monthly is a good first pass

Actual billing may be quarterly and payments are monthly DD . C0-OP for one .
