Item faulty, seller admitted its faulty, returned now not responding? Section 75 claim?

Options
Ok,

Long story short. Bought a tuning box from a reputable tuning box firm. Bought from UK site, item shipped from Germany.

Item arrives, causes the car to throw up error codes when fitted.

After two weeks of to-ing and fro-ing they admitted the wiring harness and coding were wrong for my car and asked me to return it to be corrected.

I did so via a tracked method (UPS) and it shows as returned to them last Friday.

I've asked today for an update and none has been forthcoming.

Their customer service has been terrible and they've sold me a product thats either not fit for purpose / incompatible with my car / faulty and they're now ignoring me.

I bought it on a Vanquis card and it cost £399.

So two questions :-
  • Can i instigate a Section 75 recharge?
  • How do i instigate a Section 75 recharge with most hope of success?

Thanks in advance

Is Vanquis a credit card? If yes then S75 will be available.

You initiate an S75 claim by following the card provider's process - contact them/check their website to find out what it is.

Yes, sorry, its a Vanquis VISA Credit card.

Rang the company in Germany - they are called RaceChip and their .co.uk website is just a front end for the german company - there and their "customer service" have no update on the order and cant tell what has happened to it.

The guy is going to contact their tech team and will reply to me by monday.

Absolutely hopeless service given this has been going on a month but i guess i need to wait now until they (dont) respond on Monday.

Genuinely awful service - disinterested, unapologetic, no interest in providing timescales or keeping the customer informed, no escalation, no sense of attempting to get a resolution.
