boiler flue regulations

We are thinking of having a conservatory built- but have had varying advice on how near our boiler flue can be to a new structure. Our flue is currently 30cm away from our back door, but if we had a conservatory built it would be 12cm away from the edge of the new structure.
One builder has said that's ok, so long as you have a screen covering the flue and that there would be no window opening in the new conservatory directly next to it.
We don't really want to spend money moving the boiler, so if someone could give us some concrete advice on the regulations- we'd be very grateful.

Assuming a fan assisted exhaust, 300mm is the minimum distance. Your builder is wrong and at the next service, the gas engineer would probably condemn the installation as unsafe.

If it's a fanned flue can't you extend it above the conservatory?

You have to watch builders/designers/architects. When we were having an extension designed I pointed out to the chap doing it that the boiler flue was too near to the new wall & he simply wrote "Minimum distance 600mm" on the drawing, as if that put everything right!
