Got hit going right through filter lights

Hey everyone,
I'm just looking for a bit of advice.
I was in an accident where my car was hit on the rear side wheel/bumper by a motorcycle after I was turning right through a filter light. By my estimation, he had been going a lot quicker than the 30mph limit for the road and additionally he wasn't aware that there were filter lights on my side of the road (I discovered later on after taking his details that he's not from around my area). Would I be wise to mention these details to my insurance company?
It's basically my word against his, and I'm worried I'm going to suffer for this. Is there any extra steps I can take to support my case?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

I'd add if was my left read wheel/bumper, so he was coming from the opposite direction - if I hadn't made that clear!0

Take plenty of pictures of your damage , take clear pictures of the junction showing the filter lights.
You cannot prove they were speeding unless you have an independent witness.
If you cut across the junction and the bike hit you I'd say it was your faultEx forum ambassador

What sort of filter light was it? Some give a green arrow which means oncoming traffic sees red. Others have two green lights, one normal and an adjacent filter light. You may proceed when just the normal green is showing but you must give way to any oncoming traffic, which still has a green light in their direction.0

Can you tell us where this happened so we can have a look on Google Maps?0

Don't speculate in your report. Just stick to the facts.
Your estimation of his speed is likely to be highly unreliable.
He doesn't need to be aware of whether you have a filter light or not. What signals other road users have are not relevant to him. He only needs to know whether his light is green or red, in which case he may proceed or should stop accordingly.0 -
Interesting thread. Similar happened to my Mom a few months back. She was hit by a vile git in a BMW who gave her a load of verbal.
He's trying to claim about £13k in compensation, although the claims for the cars were taken 50/50 as she couldn't prove he hadn't run the lights.
Here's the junction to look at.
